04-03-20: Strength In Numbers. We Continue To Recruit

When I came across this chalk drawing in my neighborhood, I couldn’t help but smile. Children always manage to bring their innocent truth under any circumstance. We are all obeying social distancing. There is still a strong desire to hold one another’s hand and to come together as a community – show strength & compassion in unity. Now, there are other ways of expressing this same desire, to demonstrate that we are still here for each other.
At LH&A, we are working from home. We interact with our clients and candidates. Each day we continue to interview candidates. We reach out to our current and potential clients to identify their hiring needs. Hiring should pick up in the next 30-60-90 days. We practice “proactive recruiting”. We will be ready. LH&A is committed to your success. We continue to recruit for Medical Writers and Freelance PR professionals. Next week we hope to share details about a new job opening for a Patent Agent in Chicago! Keep a lookout!

Only 3 more days to sign up for my career-changing webinar! Learn why it is important and beneficial to partner with a recruiter to land your dream job. I will guide you to success when you follow my tips and tricks to building a positive relationship with a recruiter. Join me on April 6th at 7 pm CST. See registration details below.

03-16-20: Positive Action Leads To Change. LH&A Is Here For You

How well can you predict the outcome of your actions? The behaviors we exhibit in times like this, where COVID-19 can bring businesses to a standstill and life to a halt as we understand it, will determine our abilities to handle stress. VUCA is an acronym that stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. This combination of words, taken together, characterize the nature  of difficult conditions. VUCA is a term taken from the military, used to describe business today. The antidote to VUCA is also VUCAVision, Understanding, Clarity and Agility.  We come together (in person or virtually) make decisions, solve problems, handle risks and innovate for change.
It is time to rise above it all. Don’t panic. Bring acts of kindness and look out for one another. When one door closes, another opens. We can use multi-sensory tools to come together and take action. Remember the human element to stay connected without physically working side-by-side. Let our individual strengths be our collective solutions. The art of conversation will make are-bound! We are grateful that our clients continue to recruit. We even have a virtual job opening! LH+A is committed to your success. Let’s work together to achieve our collective goals.

P.S. We adapt and change to changing circumstances. My NSENG workshop, How to Work with a Recruiter will be changed to a Webinar format on Monday, April 6. More details to follow.

02-18-20: Are You A Creative Thinker? Can You Solve The 9-dot Connectivity Test?

Business needs are constantly changing. Clients are looking for candidates who are creative and can solve problems. Can you think outside the box? Take the 9-dot connectivity test to challenge your creative self.

Get a pen and paper and copy the nine dots arranged in a square. To solve the problem, you need to join all nine dots by drawing straight lines. The straight lines must be continuous – i.e. you must not lift your pen from the paper once you start drawing.

Here’s a clue. If you’re like most people, you will have tried to solve the problem by keeping your lines inside the ‘box’ created by the dots. But if you look at the instructions, there is no requirement to do this. So have another go at solving the problem, allowing yourself to draw outside the box.

Now, use your creative thinking abilities to solve our clients’ business issues.  Check out our job openings below.

01-27-20: Inspiration for Growth: Tribute to Eddie Hazan

As a recruiter, I love to help guide candidates to successful placements with clients. It’s not always the easiest process. Hiring managers want “best in class” talent with track records of success, ready to move up and on. Why am I re-stating the obvious work of an executive recruiter? On Jan 19, 2020, my beloved mother, who just celebrated her 92nd birthday, passed on to the next world.
She is now my guardian angel, watching out for me and providing guidance from above. It’s always good to have a coach.
Eddie Hazan was a remarkable French teacher. She encouraged her students to study, work hard and aim for success. Reading her past students’ testimonials, I was amazed at how much of a positive impact she had had with students of all ages and backgrounds. To me, she was just Mommy.

She taught me that hard work, a positive attitude and continuous learning would pay off. To all of my clients and candidates, may we excel at work (and play), participate in our communities, be kind and give back. For this, we shall all be the better.
