Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Juris Doctor degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a law, professional services firm, or similar field
- Career-development, data entry & quality control experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with databases & supervisory experience
- Strong project management skills
- Able to define & implement processes related to collecting & managing data
- Strong research skills, focused on internet research
- Execute tasks & processes efficiently & effectively with minimal direct supervision
- Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel for reporting & analysis
- Effective written & oral communication skills
- Able to work effectively across offices & time zones
- Format graphs, charts, and other visual methods of presenting information

External Career Opportunities Manager- Job Description:
Aide firm’s lawyers, alumni, & clients to identify, secure, & succeed in desirable in-house positions. Provide expert guidance on in-house legal careers & career development strategies. Advise lawyers, practice leaders, & relevant firm colleagues. Manage firm’s external career opportunities platforms (“the platform”) for lawyers. Oversee relevant processes, procedures, & workflows to ensure “the platform” remains valuable resource. Serve as ambassador for external career opportunities’ strategies & “the platform”.
Responsibilities:
- Identify & develop key internal & external relationships to support “the platform” & identify new career opportunities
- Build relationships with key recruiters, firm lawyers, alumni, & clients to collect additional opportunities via referrals
- Outreach to firm lawyers, clients & other resources to conduct additional research
- Establish relationships with practice leaders & liaisons to identify appropriate candidates for client-based & other strategic in-house opportunities
- Build & strengthen value & visibility of “the platform” & strategy
- Promote “the platform” as a valuable resource for partners to offer to clients
- Work with partners to identify strategic, client-based opportunities
- Communicate regularly with key partners on identified opportunities & interested candidates.
- Support firm lawyers, alumni, & clients seeking in-house opportunities
- Assist firm lawyers, alumni, & clients to identify & pursue in-house positions
- Manage portfolio of candidates & open positions
- Consult & collaborate with colleagues on Learning & Development team to provide seamless career development advice & consultation to lawyers
- Assist lawyers with development of self-marketing materials (e.g. resumes, CVs, cover letters, & LinkedIn profiles), facilitate introductions & prepare for interviews
- Collaborate with Learning & Development team & other departments to support local & firmwide career-development activities
- Operate as “center of excellence” around career-development strategies & programs
- Maintain oversight of career-development resources library
- Collaborate with Alumni professionals & other members of Marketing team
- Maintain oversight of “the platform,” including data accuracy, processes & procedures
- Train data entry staff. Delegate & supervise daily data-entry assignments
- Oversee processes, procedures, & workflows. Ensure consistent & accurate daily data collection, entry, & processing
- Execute & supervise data imports & exports
- Identify trends, define relevant metrics, & produce analytical reports to support career-development initiatives
- Develop instructions & related communications to maximize use of “the platform”
- Provide day-to-day user support & trouble-shooting assistance
- Ensure data integrity within “the platform” & compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations & policies
- Act as project manager for “the platform” upgrades & enhancements. Track & report progress, assessments & deliver results
- Continue to develop “the platform” & strategy
- Collaborate with other firm administrative teams, including HR, IT, & Marketing to integrate “the platform” with other firm systems, maximize its effectiveness, & ensure consistent, high level of service & performance
- Collect feedback on external career opportunities, “the platform” & strategy. Recommend enhancements, & implement improvements
- Assist with additional projects associated with “the platform” & related career-development initiatives
- Develop subject-matter expertise on scope & nature of internal & external data to enhance “the platform” & related firm initiatives
