- 5+ years’ experience in public relations or communications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, public relations, journalism or similar field
- Healthcare background & advocacy are ideal
- Must have strong written & verbal communication skills
- Able to deliver information in concise & compelling manner
- Effective time management & organizational skills for multiple projects with changing priorities
- Strong relationship builder with collaboration skills
- Able to use analytics to improve decision-making
- Knowledgeable in public relations software, such as Cision
Seeking PR/communications candidate to join healthcare professional association, dedicated to driving innovation & excellence in healthcare. PR Manager works with various business units to support PR & communication strategies to bring awareness & visibility across healthcare, political, & consumer markets. Candidate will develop press releases, op-eds & letters to the editor, & media advisories, signature stories, content to advance policies. Travel 1-2 times a year.
PR Manager break-out of time:
20%: Source & secure media interviews for healthcare professionals. Communicate with media influencers across healthcare, political, & consumer markets.
30%: Maintain relationships with healthcare & legislative opinion elites & inform them on healthcare professionals in U.S. healthcare. Monitor & analyze federal & state government actions & emerging trends relevant to healthcare professionals.
30%: Manage news/press materials, signature stories, op-eds, letters to editors, & press conferences.
Collaborate with PR Director & Manager on strategic communication strategies. Draft content to advance policy, legislative & regulatory interests based on organization’s state, federal and healthcare administration advocacy priorities.
10%: Oversee measurement & tracking of short-term & year-round communication, media relations & campaign efforts, including organizing media mentions & assessing audience reach, frequency & ad value.
5%: Collaborate with PR staff to envision and apply media & communication strategies to drive earned & paid coverage. Work with team to align PR campaigns with strategic messaging & activities.
5%: Maintain team priorities while meeting deadlines. Collaborate with PR & Marketing teams.
